Terms of Service

1. Introduction
Welcome to Ed’s Mobile Mechanic (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the mobile mechanic services we provide. By scheduling, purchasing, or otherwise engaging with our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Definitions
- Client: The individual or entity receiving services from Ed’s Mobile Mechanic.
- Services: Any diagnostic, repair, maintenance, or sales activities performed by Ed’s Mobile Mechanic on a Client’s vehicle.
- Vehicle: The make, model, year, and VIN-identified automobile on which Services are performed.
- Appointment: A mutually agreed date, time, and location for performance of Services.
3. Scope of Services
We offer:
- On-site maintenance & repair (oil changes, brake service, engine diagnostics, etc.)
- Diagnostic services (computer diagnostics, visual inspection, test driving, code reading)
- Sales of used vehicles, sold “as is”
- Customized work contracts tailored to your needs
Details of the specific Services you request—including fees, parts, and estimated completion—will be recorded in a written contract or work order.
4. Appointments & Scheduling
- Appointments must be booked at least 24 hours in advance.
- You may reschedule or cancel without penalty if you notify us at least 24 hours before the scheduled time.
- Late cancellations or “no-shows” may incur a fee of up to 50% of the scheduled diagnostic or repair charge.
5. Pricing & Payment
- Estimates: We will provide an upfront estimate for labor, parts, and diagnostic fees.
- Payment Methods: Cash, major credit cards, and other methods as agreed.
- Deposits: A deposit may be required to secure an appointment or purchase.
- Final Payment: Due upon completion of Services. If you purchase a vehicle or work package, full payment is due upon transfer.
6. Diagnostics
- Diagnostic services are performed for a flat fee; additional parts or repairs are charged separately.
- You acknowledge that diagnostics may require specialized tools and several hours to complete.
- Recommendations following diagnostics will not be performed until you explicitly authorize them.
7. Repairs & Warranty
- Workmanship Guarantee: We guarantee our labor for a period of ___ days/months from completion; any defects in workmanship will be remedied at no extra labor charge.
- Parts Warranty: Subject to the manufacturer’s warranty on parts; we will manage any warranty claims on your behalf.
- “As Is” Sales: Vehicles sold through us are sold “as is,” with no additional warranty, expressed or implied.
8. Client Obligations
- Provide accurate vehicle information, including VIN and odometer reading.
- Ensure safe, accessible work location.
- Secure personal belongings; we are not responsible for lost or damaged contents.
- Authorize any additional work in writing before proceeding.
9. Limitation of Liability
- We carry general liability insurance but are not responsible for:
- Pre-existing damage or mechanical failures unrelated to Services performed.
- Consequential or incidental damages (e.g., loss of use, towing fees).
- Our total liability for any claim arising from our Services is limited to the total amount you paid for those Services.
10. Termination & Cancellation
- Either party may terminate the contract by written notice at any time prior to commencement of additional work.
- Upon termination, you remain responsible for payment of all Services rendered and parts supplied up to the date of termination.
- Vehicles must be picked up within ___ days of completion; storage fees of $___ per day apply thereafter.
11. Governing Law
These Terms and any contract between you and Ed’s Mobile Mechanic are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana. Any dispute shall be resolved in the state or federal courts of Jefferson Parish.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting the updated version on our website. Continued use of our Services after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.
